Is there more of a misconception that most people actually have about what a "relationship" means, as much as how you date and how you choose whom to date?

In just an outside observer, so I'm curious, so do you know if the motivation for being casual and not serious possibly stems from not understanding what a relationship means, so they don't know what they want? Relationships are complex:

--individuality AND symbiosis,

--"easy" connection AND effort

--fun times AND struggles AND reciprocal emotional support

--growth and change

Similarly, defining what you want from somebody else in a relationship also requires self reflection to understand your own things you can put in, where you have flexibility or at least a range in your values, and how well you can compromise.

Every date where a real connection isn't found also rewires your brain to believe that love is difficult to find. And your brain then starts looking for evidence that reinforces this. Neuroscientists call this predictive processing. Turns out, your brain is the most powerful dating algorithm. What you direct attention to and expose it to, it gives you more of.
